Mini Police

2022 saw the introduction of our amazing Year Six Mini Police Team.

Mini Police is a national project run by Police Forces to encourage positive engagement at a young age with the Police and linked agencies. Thames Valley Police have been running this successful scheme for a number of years and we were delighted to join this year.

Our 2024/25 intake of Mini Police have had a busy start to the year: Reading Chronicle article

We have been sworn in to our new role. We are excited to be helping at the Judicial swearing in ceremony in Reading Town Centre which will take place in early October. We will also be attending the Remembrance Day Parade at the Forbury in Reading on November 12th.

Tuesday 22nd April 2025

Mini Police from Southcote, Katesgrove and Park Lane Primary Schools attended Coronation Square, Southcote and met with Police Officers from Thames Valley Police (TVP), Mounted Section. TVP were conducting a planned reassurance Policing Operation in the Southcote area.

The children were able to ask as many questions as they liked to the two experienced Police Officers and say hello to the two Police Horses.

The sun shone throughout. The children look brilliant in their Mini Police uniforms and the local residences appeared really pleased to see them.

Southcote Library once again supported our activity so huge thanks again to Rachel, the Manager.

This activity was set up by our PCSO links PCSO Emma Gray and PCSO Luke Mason.
