We are exploring the opportunity to open a maintained nursery provision at Southcote Primary School to provide high-quality, teacher-led early education for local families.

We would like to reassure our community about a few common concerns:

• No new building will be constructed.
  The nursery will make use of existing space within the school that is already suitable for Early Years use.
• No anticipated increase in traffic.
  We expect the places to be taken up mainly by families who already attend or live very close to the school, so there should be no additional pressure on local roads or parking.
• Responsible use of existing facilities.
  As pupil numbers are falling nationally, the school is simply finding constructive ways to use the space we already have to benefit our community.
• Parking and traffic control.
  Any commitments or actions related to parking or traffic management fall under the responsibility of the Local Authority, not the school. The school has no legal authority to enforce or manage parking or traffic on public highways.
